Late spring: the sweet spot
May and early June bring warm weather, long days and destinations that are lively but not yet packed. For most graduating classes this is the ideal window, and it usually lines up neatly with the end of exams.
Summer: sun and sea
July and August are made for the coast. The beaches of Antalya, Fethiye and Bodrum are at their best, though prices and crowds run higher. Book early and you will get the best of the Turkish summer.
Autumn: quieter and better value
September and October keep much of the summer warmth while prices and crowds fall away. City breaks and cultural trips to Istanbul, Cappadocia and the Aegean are especially good in autumn, when the light is soft and the queues are short.
Winter: for a very different trip
Some places come into their own in winter. Cappadocia is magical under a dusting of snow, and the ski slopes of Erciyes and Uludag offer a completely different kind of graduation trip. Just pack for the cold and check daylight hours.
